Build your estimate

Service-connected ratings

Type a condition name or diagnostic code, then select a known match. You can also keep custom VA wording. Catalog selection supplies reference metadata only and never chooses a rating or effective date.

No ratings added yet. Add your first rating to begin.

The curated catalog was verified against the current federal diagnostic-code index on July 20, 2026. It is not yet a complete copy of every rating-schedule entry. A single undivided “bilateral” rating is not split automatically.

Dependents

Dependency additions apply to ordinary compensation at 30% or higher and to the applicable dependent rows for replacement SMC levels.

Rate and SMC

Enter the SMC designation shown in a reviewed VA decision, code sheet, or award record. These controls and the full SMC workspace edit the same local record.

Current designation: Regular compensation

Any SMC-K amount is added to ordinary schedular compensation.

Explanation and references

What this estimate includes

This estimate uses official VA compensation and full-SMC tables, whole-person combined-rating math, the current bilateral-factor rule, entered dependency categories, and the reviewed SMC designation. Rates were verified on July 20, 2026.

Current limitations: The condition catalog is curated rather than exhaustive. VMC calculates an entered or document-confirmed SMC designation but does not infer loss of use, blindness, housebound status, Aid and Attendance, or legal entitlement. Effective dates feed the historical workspace, but payment reconciliation, offsets, recoupment, withholding, and final back-pay certification remain separate reviewed modules.
